"Dibujamos sobre un mapa imaginario autopistas de gran velocidad, nos invade una ilusión desconocida y nuestra única intención es avanzar."
A march took place in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) today, to honour and remember the Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit and other Indigenous relations* that have been murdered and missing in Canada. The march started at the Peace & Friendship Park and moved up to the Public Gardens where red dresses, ties and other red fabrics were hung as a symbol to remember them. Protesters used the concept of MMIR (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relations) instead of MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women) to, quoting the Facebook description of the march, "consider those in our communities who live beyond the confines of the gender binary."
Staycation project completed! and I'm quite proud of the result. This was all done in less than a day, on Photoshop. It was about time for a little update on my cover photo across socials and my phone background. These pictures are all taken by me. The oldest is from January 2019, the most recent is from January 2021, this past weekend. You can find (most of) them here, on my Instagram.
First photography walk to Point Pleasant Park in 2021, from a different starting point now.
Before you go to bed tonight...
